Thank you to our community for PASSING the no-tax rate increase bond issue on April 8, 2025! Below, you'll find updates regarding the process regarding the following projects:

• An indoor activities facility, located behind Republic High School, which would add 8-9 dedicated classroom spaces for various activities and athletic programs along with flexible classroom spaces to extend current instructional programming. This facility would also include a 65,000 square foot turfed area to be used by students both during and outside of the school day, as well as a community room with seating for 150 for district and community events. 

• Repurposing current space inside Republic High School, left by the programs moving to the indoor activities facility, to create 8-9 new classrooms.  Both this and the indoor activities facility are expected to be completed for the 2026-2027 school year.

• Adding window safety and security film to all exterior doors and school entrance vestibules, for additional security, at ALL BUILDINGS. This is expected to be completed by the start of the 2025-2026 school year.

• Upgrading portions of Republic Middle School, including the addition of air conditioning in the auxiliary gym. This is expected to be completed by the start of the 2025-2026 school year.

• Air conditioning the Price Elementary gym. This is expected to be completed by the start of the 2025-2026 school year.

These projects continue to address the growth in our community and our focus on improving current facilities across the district to best meet the needs of students and employees.

Thank you to our community for PASSING the no tax levy increase bond issue for a new 5th and 6th grade center on April 4, 2023! Below, you'll find updates regarding the process of the future "Republic Intermediate School," which will be a new school building for all 5th and 6th grade students in the Republic School District. It is estimated to be completed in time to open for the 2025-2026 school year.

As a reminder, the Republic Intermediate School (RIS) will be located on land the district purchased in December 2022 near James River Freeway and U.S. Highway 60. 

Below you will find updates regarding the progress of the new Republic Early Childhood Center (completed July 2022) and Schofield Elementary gymnasium/high wind shelter (completed April 2022). In addition, there is an update regarding the purchase of land to build a new school.
