David M Krudwig

Mr. David M Krudwig - Artistic Director/Technical Director

David Krudwig is in his sixth year at RepMO but twentieth-third teaching (other 18 at Parkview High School in Springfield).

Mr. Krudwig earned his Master's Degree in Directing in 2014 from the prestigious Chicago College of the Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, Chicago Illinois. He is a 2000 graduate of Missouri State University's Theatre and Dance Department and a proud five-year veteran of Missouri State University's summer professional Tent Theatre, where he worked as actor, master carpenter and assistant technical director; Most recently performed in "Anything Goes" as Elijah J. Whitney in the summer of 2023.

Since Mr. Krudwig's arrival in 2018 The Tiger Theatre has earned District Championships in the MSHSAA One-Act Play performance in 2020 and 2023, and Runner-up in 2022. Also in 2022 "Legally Blonde: The Musical" was selected to perform at the Mo. Thespian Conference at the Stifel Theatre in St. Louis, Mo.

While at PHS he had a show selected to perform at the prestigious International Thespian Festival (2004) earned four MSHSAA District Championships, four Runner-ups and a 3rd place finish at the State Finals. Some of Mr. Krudwig's students have gone on to study at such universities as Roosevelt University in Chicago, North Carolina School for the Arts in Winston-Salem, Webster Univesity St. Louis, MO, Evansville University, IN, University of California at Irvine, and NYU.

Mr. Krudwig moonlights as an actor in local TV, radio, and independent films. Mr. Krudwig and his wife Brandy have three daughters, Liberty, Lillian & Genevieve.  Mr Krudwig is excited to continue this journey and program at The Tiger Theatre at Republic High School.

Kate Hemphill

Mrs. Kate Hemphill - Assistant Director

Kate Hemphill graduated from Missouri State University with her Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Theatre Education with an emphasis in Theatre in May 2017. While working on her degree Kate did the stage makeup for a show at the Springfield Contemporary Theatre on their production of Shining City. Kate completed her student teaching at Parkview High School under Mr. Krudwig. 

Since graduating she has worked with Mr. Krudwig on the production team for Pippin as well as directing the Readers Theatre for the past three years. She has also worked with Springfield’s Shakespeare at the Columns as Scenic Painter on Much Ado About Nothing and as Stage Manager for Cymbeline.

Kate looks forward to working with Mr. Krudwig again and the students at Republic High School.

Chandler Cooper

Mr. Chandler Cooper - Music Director

Chandler Cooper is the Choir Director at Republic High School where he instructs a variety of choral ensembles and music classes. Chandler graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor’s of Vocal Music Education and studied conducting with Dr. Cameron LaBarr and voice with Dr. Chris Thompson. He has performed in ensembles in Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, China, and throughout the United States. In 2018, Chandler was one of five fellows selected to study melody with renowned composer and conductor Alice Parker at her home in Hawley, Massachusetts.

Prior to working at Republic High School, Chandler was the Associate Choral Director at Blue Springs High School and the Assistant Director for the Boys Choir of Springfield, Missouri.

His musical activities began with roles in Parkview Theatre productions directed by Mr. Krudwig, and Chandler couldn’t be more thrilled to be working alongside him once again, now in The Tiger Theatre!

Helen Krudwig

Mrs. Helen Krudwig - Business and Costuming Director

Mrs. Krudwig or Mama K holds a BS in Biology from Southwest Missouri State College and MT(ASCP) from American Society of Clinical Pathologists and worked in her field for 34 years. Following her retirement, she joined Mr. K’s staff in 2003. Nurturing her lifelong interest in theatre, Mama K has attended each annual Missouri State Thespian Conference, attending workshops in each of the theatrical areas that she mentors students: Box office, marketing, ushering, costuming, properties, hair & makeup. 

Professionally, she has performed on stage during college and in several community theatre productions; as well as serving as costume designer locally. She is excited to be working and sharing her love for theatre with the energetic & eager students at Republic High School. She is pleased to be a part of the backstage areas that help create the different worlds that the New Tiger Theatre students will produce on stage.

Mackenzie Manning

Miss Bryiar Callaway - Choreographer

Bryiar Callaway is a graduate of Republic High School, where she was involved in Theatre, Choir, and the Tigerettes Dance Team. Before graduating, she was a competitive dancer and began choreographing her own dance solos at age 13.

Bryiar is a current student at Missouri State University and a member of the Sugar Bears Dance Team.

She continues her love for choreography and is excited to be back at Tiger Theatre.
