No-Tax Rate Increase Bond Issue: April 8, 2025

To continue addressing the growth in our community and our focus on improving current facilities across the district to best meet the needs of students and employees, Republic School District is proposing a no-tax rate increase bond issue on the April 8, 2025 election ballot. This proposal would fund:

  • An indoor activities facility, located behind Republic High School, which would add 8-9 dedicated classroom spaces for various activities and athletic programs along with flexible classroom spaces to extend current instructional programming. This facility would also include a 65,000 square foot turfed area to be used by students both during and outside of the school day, as well as a community room with seating for 150 for district and community events.

  • Repurposing current space inside Republic High School, left by the programs moving to the indoor activities facility, to create 8-9 new classrooms.

  • Adding window safety and security film to all exterior doors and school entrance vestibules, for additional security, at ALL BUILDINGS.

  • Upgrading portions of Republic Middle School, including the addition of air conditioning in the auxiliary gym.

  • Air conditioning the Price Elementary gym.

The combined costs of these projects is approximately $33 million. However, the no-tax rate increase bond issue is for $22 million. The additional $11 million would be covered by project savings and interest from the RIS project along with capital funds monies.

Regardless of passing or failing on April 8, the debt services levy tax rate of $0.94 will not change.
