Missed learning has an effect on student achievement. Republic High School students with higher attendance rates, also had higher Grade Point Averages. As shown in the graph, as attendance rates decline, so do GPAs. In addition, we know that most students who graduate from RHS continue their education or transition directly into the workforce. Regardless of their path after graduation, attendance will be vital. As we encourage strong attendance for middle and high school students, we support their development of good habits for whatever their future holds. For more information from our #EveryDayCounts attendance initiative, visit republicschools.org/everydaycounts. #RepMOProud

In the graph, we have provided a comparison between Republic High School students' Grade Point Average as it relates to their attendance rate. RHS students who had 100-98% attendance had an average GPA of 3.44. As attendance rates decline, so do GPAs. This chart further reflects the importance of being present at school on a regular basis, as it directly correlates to a student's academic achievement.
At each Board of Education meeting during the school year, we have a "Building Spotlight" to showcase the remarkable efforts across our district. This month, we heard from Schofield Elementary School students and Principal Mrs. Markie Bravestone. They discussed Schofield's new vision: "Be the school where every student is safe, happy, healthy and learning." #RepMOProud

Did you know? When a student misses school two days per month, they will miss 20 days of school per year, including at least 30 hours of math and 60 hours of reading/writing instruction. In addition, students who miss two days of school per month will miss more than one year of school by the time they graduate. Those numbers are doubled for students who miss four days per month. For more information from our #EveryDayCounts attendance initiative, visit republicschools.org/everydaycounts. #RepMOProud

Major league baseball is in full swing! Would you like to (virtually) visit one of the most famous baseball stadiums in the world? In today’s summer learning resource, we’re taking you to Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, which opened for its first game in 1912, making it the oldest ballpark in the MLB. You can take a virtual tour of the entire stadium, including the field, press room and box seats. Find that interactive experience here: https://redsox.athleticview.io/ Even if you’re not a Red Sox fan, all baseball lovers can appreciate the history of the ballpark. You can read more about the background of Fenway here: https://www.mlb.com/redsox/ballpark/museum/timeline/1912-1919 #RepMOProud
