Dr. Lauren Goddard was named Director of Special Education, effective July 1, 2023.

(January 20, 2023) -  After completing the interview process, the Board of Education has promoted current Special Education Assistant Director, Dr. Lauren Goddard, to serve as the Director of Special Education for the 2023-2024 school year. She will begin this role on July 1, 2023, after the retirement of current Director Meredith Morris. 

Dr. Goddard has served as Assistant Director of the department since July 1, 2022. Before joining Republic Schools, Dr. Goddard was the Director of Special Services in the Pleasant Hill School District. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a master’s in Education, and a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership.

Throughout her 14 year career in education, Dr. Goddard has successfully developed and implemented special education curriculum and processes. In addition, she has led her previous teams through effective staff development based on industry best practices. She has already made a tremendous impact in the Republic School District in her first several months on our team and we look forward to her continued service to our students.
