Mrs. Alyssa Phillips was named Director of Early Childhood, effective July 1, 2023

(April 14, 2023) - At its meeting on April 13, the Republic School District Board of Education named Mrs. Alyssa Phillips as Director of Early Childhood for the 2023-2024 school year! 

 Mrs. Phillips currently serves as Assistant Director at EC. She will transition into her new role July 1, 2023 after the retirement of current director Mrs. Misty Kinsey. 

Mrs. Phillips is a career educator with a toolbox full of resources and expertise to support our Early Childhood employees and students in their continued growth. During her 20 years of serving in elementary education, Mrs. Phillips has been a kindergarten classroom teacher, reading specialist, literacy coach and K-2 Literacy Specialist. Throughout her career, Mrs. Phillips has implemented effective classroom management, provided research-based literacy interventions, led K-2 curriculum writing, presented professional development, rolled out new curriculum initiatives, and coached both new and veteran teachers in the areas of best practices and classroom management. Most recently, as Assistant Director of Early Childhood, she has been intentional about establishing relationships with EC families and staff, and collaborating with them to plan engaging events and classroom learning. The combination of her knowledge and deep passion to support students and teachers will be a great asset as she leads the Republic Early Childhood Center!

 Mrs. Phillips said she is honored and excited to serve Republic's youngest learners as Director of Early Childhood. She looks forward to building upon the EC's history of excellence and focusing her efforts on relationship-building and preparing students for kindergarten.
