Mrs. Shaina McMunn, Assistant Director of Early Childhood; Mrs. Camie Lyons, Principal of McCulloch Elementary; Mr. Trey Allen, Assistant Principal of McCulloch Elementary

(May 19, 2023) - We are excited to announce a few leadership changes for the 2023-2024 school year, which were approved at last night’s Board of Education meeting.

Mrs. Shaina McMunn was named Assistant Director of Early Childhood. Mrs. McMunn has been an elementary teacher in Republic Schools for the last seven years, and currently teaches second grade at Schofield Elementary. She has served on the district’s Curriculum Development Committees and held many other leadership roles, including on the Professional Development Committee and Schofield’s Lighthouse Team. Mrs. McMunn prioritizes building relationships with students, staff and families. Her commitment to serving the needs of each and every student will help the Republic Early Childhood Center continue to thrive.

In addition, there will be adjustments at McCulloch Elementary. Current Principal Mr. Kevin Creighton submitted his resignation earlier this month after accepting a district-level job for Springfield Public Schools. The Board of Education has officially named Mrs. Camie Lyons as the new Principal at McCulloch for the 2023-2024 school year. Mrs. Lyons has served as an educator and building leader in the Republic School District for 11 years. She led a 5th grade classroom for seven of those, and for the last four years, she has served as McCulloch’s Assistant Principal. Mrs. Lyons is a strong instructional leader and has a heart for McCulloch students, staff and families. The energy she puts into ensuring McCulloch students are kind, high-achieving, lifelong learners is endless!

Mr. Trey Allen was named the new Assistant Principal for McCulloch Elementary. He will be coming to Republic from Willard Public Schools, where he has served as a Physical Education teacher for the last six years. He had previously taught PE for Springfield Public Schools for three years. Trey has experience coaching sports at the middle and high school levels, including football and track and field. In addition, he has served as a summer school building principal in Willard and as a member of his building’s Lighthouse Team. Trey has a servant's heart and a passion for serving students, staff and families. As made evident by his current work at a Leader in Me school, he believes that all students have leadership potential. Trey’s core values focus on growth, hard work and kindness, which perfectly align with the McCulloch mission.

All of these positions take effect July 1, 2023.

Join us in congratulating these individuals on their new positions!
