The RepMO Hero for October is Ms. Alysia Brooks, Preschool Teacher at Republic Early Childhood Center! The RepMO Hero program honors Republic School District staff members who go above and beyond in their service to students and fellow teammates.

Please join us in congratulating Ms. Alysia and thanking her for her commitment to our students! Watch the video below to see Superintendent Dr. Matt Pearce and EC students surprise Ms. Alysia with this recognition! She will be honored at the December Board of Education meeting and will receive $500 to be spent on school-related resources of her choice.

A compilation of nominations received in regards to Ms. Alysia from district employees is below.

"Ms. Alysia Brooks is hardworking, kind, supportive, and typically the first to volunteer to support co-workers or students. In addition to teaching music, art, STEM, PE, AND library at EC, she consistently pursues new learning opportunities to enhance programming, apply for grants, host events, and provide top-notch instruction at our school. She is a member of our leadership team and serves as a co-facilitator of the Parent Involvement Culture Action Team. She has been instrumental in the successful implementation of Take-Home Literacy Bags, Field Day, PreK Promotion, Project Lead the Way, and the Tiger Tot Trot. Most recently she hosted our first-ever book fair exclusive to EC and started providing a new social-emotional support time for students known as "Cub Club." Students who attend bi-weekly sessions with her have an opportunity to practice self-regulation strategies and apply social skill learning with peers. Alysia is a champion for little ones, a team player, and a blessing to EC!"

Thanks to our sponsor, Beauty + Wellness Co, for supporting our district and providing an additional $100 for each RepMO Hero throughout the year to spend personally!

In addition to celebrating Ms. Alysia, we'd like to honor all of our RepMO Hero October Nominees! Thanks to every single one of these individuals for going above and beyond to serve students and teammates!
