Two Republic community members have filed their candidacy for two open positions on the Republic School District Board of Education. Lauren Layman and Todd Wojciechowski (incumbent) will each serve three-year terms starting in April.

Under the provisions of Missouri Statute Section 115.124, if the number of candidates who file is the same as the number of positions to be filled by the election (two), there will be no election. Since this is the case, at the Board of Education’s April organizational meeting, the district will swear in these candidates and elect officers.

The Republic School District would like to thank outgoing Board of Education member, Anne Buchanan, for her service to our district since being elected in 2021. She did not seek re-election, leaving her seat available. Todd Wojciechowski was first elected in 2015 and is currently serving his third term on the Board of Education. He will begin his fourth term in April. This will be Lauren Layman’s first term serving on the Board of Education.
