At its meeting on April 8, the Board of Education approved Coach Tori Mooneyham as Head Coach for the girls basketball team for the 2024-2025 school year.

Coach Mooneyham has been involved with the RHS girls basketball program for 25 years as an assistant coach. During that time, she has also taught girls physical education and weights classes at RHS, as well as coached RHS girls track and field.

As an assistant coach for the girls basketball team, Coach Mooneyham has been part of and contributed to many successful seasons, including the following:

  • Nine Central Ozark Conference (COC) championships

  • 15 district championships

  • 10 state quarterfinal appearances

  • Two state championships

“I’ve been fortunate to be a part of Lady Tiger basketball for over 30 years as both a player and assistant coach,” said Mooneyham. “I feel extremely blessed to be able to continue this journey, in a new role, with this particular group of girls.”

The Republic School District completed a thorough application and interview process to find the best candidate for the Head Coach position. Through discussions with all applicants, Coach Mooneyham stood out for her extensive experience and passion for the program.

“Coach Mooneyham has been a staple in Republic athletics for more than two decades. She helped lay the foundation for the success the girls basketball program has seen in that time,” said Trevyor Fisher, Athletics and Activities Director. “We look forward to the continued impact she will make in students’ lives, while prioritizing their overall development in their education and athletic involvement.”

Coach Mooneyham’s new position will take effect July 1, 2024. Additional members of the coaching staff for the team are still being determined.
